At the end of the beach is the popular Splash Island Water Park, which features a climbing wall, trampoline, swings, water polo, and high jumps. The beach is beautiful and calm and has plenty of sun loungers (for rent) for a day at the beach. A visit to the bath involves applying the warm gray mud on your body. This is an experience you don’t want to miss, even if the place smells like rotten eggs. Explore the tranquil waters of the West Coast in great diving spots, from walls to shipwrecks, and an abundance of coral reefs and trenches. The waters around the Pitons and Anse Cochon are protected marine reserves and are best for diving.

When cruising to St. Lucia, ships dock at Castries, which is the capital city. Cruise ships dock at either Pointe Seraphine, which is a 20-minute walk to the center of the town, or at La Place Carenage, which is at the center of the town. A taxi to Rodney Bay will take around 20 minutes and should cost $20-25USD. This is one of the most well-known tourist beaches on the island, although you’ll find plenty of locals here as well.
Pointe Seraphine is the St Lucia cruise port on the opposite side of the little bay, and from here it’ll take you about 20 minutes on foot to reach the centre of Castries. This terminal is bigger than Le Place Carenage, and is made of a mixture of indoor and outdoor spaces. There are more shops here, and several bars and restaurants, as well as a more organised taxi rank outside. From Pointe Seraphine it’s also easier to reach the closest walkable beach. On a cruise to Castries, It’s an hour’s southbound drive to Soufriere, which is where most excursions will take you to get to the massive Pitons nearby. Once the capital city of the island, today a visit to Soufriere is one of the best ways to understand the island’s history.

Unfortunatelly, it has been closed since the pandemic but there are rummors that it will open soon. The Castries Market and Vendor's Arcade is the largest open-air market in Castries, Saint Lucia. The beach is busy, with tonnes of facilities, restaurants and shops; and I’m told the nightlife is on point too. To get from Castries to Rodney Bay by public bus, you can take the 1A from the side of the Central Market, towards Gros Islet. The only downside to those destinations around Soufrière is that you’ll need ideally the whole day to properly enjoy yourself and get there and back to St Lucia cruise port in plenty of time. (For passengers it’s likely you’ll be fine, but for the majority of crew members it’ll be near enough impossible).

The pier is parallel to the Terminal and as the cruise traveler enters the main building a Tourist Information Desk occupies the center of the main hall with a few duty-free shops around it and very good signs indicating where to go.
You are more likely to land at George F.L Charles Airport (SLU) if you’re on an intra-Caribbean flight. While this smaller airport is much more convenient for cruise passengers due to its location adjacent to Pointe Seraphine Cruise Port, there are few scheduled flights here. The absolute worst time to cruise the Caribbean Sea would be between August and September. Or try the popular chocolate tea, which is nothing like hot chocolate but hot water added to grated chocolate sticks with sugar.
